Research based on official CBR figures has shown that Nutheorie has had the highest passing rate for six consecutive years. The passing rate for all Nutheorie candidates from 2018 to 2024 is 83.4%. This sets us far above the national average. Below, you can view the results for each individual year and the total of the past six years.
You can expect to be fully prepared and confident for the CBR exam after completing the theory course. Our instructors teach the theory in a fun, simple, and above all, responsible way, and complex information and traffic situations are visualized to make to ensure the material is easy to understand and retain. Experience shows that anyone who follows the course, pays attention and and actively participates will pass the exam on their first attempt.
The course is designed to fully prepare you for the CBR theory exam. It covers all the topics included in the theory exam. So even if you have no prior knowledge, our lessons are sufficient to prepare you for the exam.
With the online theory course, you can follow the lessons at your own pace. You can pause, repeat, and continue whenever you like, making it an ideal option for self-study. With the additional online materials like the E-book, you can study certain topics in more depth if needed.
The online study material includes a full video course covering all the topics from the CBR exam, accompanied by a clear e-book, hundreds of practice questions, and multiple practice exams similar to those of the CBR. If desired, there can be purchased even more practice exams additional to your package after logging in.
You have complete freedom to choose when your package starts. We advise scheduling it to align with your exam date so you can make the most of the theory course until the last moment. Once you start your package, you will have unlimited access to the online theory course for a specific duration, depending on the package you've selected.
The CBR exam consists of three parts: hazard recognition, knowledge, and insight. Below is how many questions you need to answer correctly in each section to pass:
- Hazard recognition: 25 questions, at least 13 correct.
- Knowledge: 12 questions, at least 10 correct.
- Insight: 28 questions, at least 25 correct.
Yes, our team works non-stop to reserve exams and link them to a course for new registrations. To make this possible, we need your authorization. Once you've given the authorization, you don't need to do anything else. After your registration, you will receive instructions from us on how it works. We can already let you know that it's much easier than it sounds!
The CBR theory exam is valid for 1.5 years after passing. It is advisable to obtain your driver's license within this period, as the CBR exam will expire and you will need to retake the theory exam.
In theory, this is possible, but only if a new exam slot is available at the CBR. Due to high demand and limited availability of exams, the chances are very low, and you may risk waiting for months before you can reschedule. This is the CBR policy, and unfortunately, we cannot change that. Once an exam is scheduled, the costs have already been paid. If the new dates you want are not available, the exam cannot be canceled free of charge.
Costs:
The theory video course packages without a CBR exam (because you have reserved it independently) are now available for €39,99, €44,99 and €49,99 because of a promotion. If we reserve an exam for you, the standard rate of a CBR exam of € 48.75 will be added. A theory course including standard CBR exam therefore costs a total of €88.74 if you go for the 7-day online course package. If you want a theory course with an extended CBR exam due to circumstances, you must bear in mind that this costs € 13 more. The 7-day online course package with an extended CBR exam therefore costs a total of € 101.74.

Down payments:
We ask our students for a down payment, because after the registration they have complete access to our course materials. We also settle the administration costs and (if applicable) your spot on the exam with the rest of the down payment.
- The down payment for a separate theory course is: €39,99, €44,99 or €49,99
- The deposit for a theory course with a standard CBR exam is: €77.75
- The deposit for a theory course with an extended CBR exam is: €90.75
The moment your spot on the CBR exam is definitively established, you will receive a message with further information and a request to pay the remaining costs.
To take a theory course as quickly as possible with an accompanying CBR exam, we advise you to select as many dates and locations as possible when registering. Due to high demand and limited availability of exam slots, this increases the chances that the CBR will have an available exam slot on one of these dates, allowing us to quickly connect you to a suitable theory course.
The spots you see on the website are for course places that have not yet been connected to an exam. We recommend selecting multiple dates during your registration. This increases the chances of getting a suitable exam date.
The date you selected is a preferred date. Once we are able to schedule you for that date, you will receive a message with all the course information and a request to complete the remaining payment. Only then is the date confirmed and official.
It is possible that the preferred date may not be available. In that case, we will first wait to see if it becomes available or we will schedule you for another date when exams are available.
That's why we ask you to select multiple dates, so we can take your preferences into account as much as possible. However, there is a chance that you may be scheduled outside of your preferred days. This is to avoid you having to wait for months before it's your turn.
We are always dependent on the CBR for exams. This applies not only to us but also to all companies and individuals in the Netherlands who want to reserve an exam.
a. Why do I need to authorize you?
Authorization has been mandatory since 2021 to reserve an exam for you. This is to prevent someone else from using your details without your knowledge.
b. How can I authorize you?
- Log in to www.mijncbr.nl (English: www.mijncbr.nl/en) with your DigiD.
- No you are on the page of Mijn CBR. If you are at the Dutch page, you can select “English” in the menu to change the language to English.
- Select the option: ‘Opleider machtigen’ (Authorize your trainer).
- Choose: ‘Machtigen theorie examen’ (Authorize for a theory test).
- Then select the category: ‘Auto’ (Car), ‘motor’ (Motorcycle) or ‘bromfiets’ (Moped), depending on your preference.
- Enter your email address and select the option:
- ‘Theorie-examen personenauto’ (Theory test for car drivers);
- ‘Theorie-examen motor’ (theory test for motorcyclists) or;
- ‘Theorie-examen bromfiets (of brommobiel)’ (Theory test for moped drivers)
- Select: ‘zoek op CBR-opleidernummer’ (By number). Enter the CBR trainer number from the authorization email we sent you.
- Click on "machtigen" (authorize), and your authorization is confirmed.
c. What if I don't have a DigiD?
Request your DigiD as soon as possible at digid.nl. If you can’t apply for a DigiD, authorize your driving school with the form 'Machtiging opleider theorie-examen auto, motor, bromfiets' (Authorization trainer theory exam car, motorcycle, moped). This form can be found on CBR.nl.
d. I can't find ‘Car’ in the authorization options, what should I do?
If you can't find the ‘Car’ category, there may be 3 possible reasons:
- You have already reserved an exam yourself. Contact us to schedule a course day.
- You are registered with another company that has reserved or will reserve an exam for you.
- The day you wanted to authorize was the day of your theory exam. Authorizations can only be given 24 hours after taking the theory exam.

e. It says: ‘Trainer cannot be authorized’, what now?
If you receive this error message, it's advisable to contact the CBR at 088 227 7700. They can help you resolve the issue.
